Jennifer Lynne Lahmers was born on the 19th February 1984, in Tuscarawas, Ohio USA, and is a news reporter and a journalist who is perhaps best known for being the co-host of FOX 5 WNYW’s TV program “FOX 5 Special: Studio 5”. She is also widely recognized for her former engagement on WBBJ-TV.

Early Life and Education

In the family of Cathy Lahmers Scolari and William Patrick Lahmers, Jennifer was actually raised in Dover, Ohio, where she completed her secondary education at Dover High School. Upon matriculating in 2002, she enrolled at E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism. Her passion for reporting and journalism in general dates to her early age of eight, when she used to record her own made-up newscast on a cassette tape, faking reports, news and interviews with her friends and family members.

Early Career

Right after graduation, Jennifer Lahmers dived into the world of full-time reporting, honing her professional skills by working on a series of minor reporting jobs, serving also as a weekend news reporter and local stations’ anchor. In 2006, transferred to Jackson, Tennessee, where she became a news anchor for its WBBJ-TV, reporting primarily about the issues of drugs and domestic violence. She also covered a large drug bust by the DEA, working as a “one-man-band” reporting crew. After her friend and colleague Alice Morrin was tragically murdered, Jennifer became an avocate against domestic violence and, as media liaison, closely collaborated with The Interval House, the biggest organization against domestic violence in the state of Connecticut. She eventually joined The Hartford Magazine and The Hartford Courant, for which she served as a humor columnist, then in July 2007 Lahmers began anchoring news for FOX CT. After almost five years, in 2012, Jennifer joined Back9Network, INC. for which she served not only as a news host, but also as its Director of Ambassador Relations in the course of the next two and a half years.

In June 2014, Lahmers relocated to New York City and joined the Fox Television Network’s WNYW station, where she began serving as its news reporter. Due to her extraordinary reporting skills and being a talented journalist, since then Jennifer has been serving as the co-host of FOX 5 Special: Studio 5 – the show which regularly reports about the latest events in the entertainment and music industry, including about celebrities and the freshest news about them. Although currently best known for her Studio 5 work, Lahmers’ most recent appearances also include co-hosting the FOX 5’s “Good Day Wake Up” broadcast. She has also been recognized for her contributing work for the New Heaven Living magazine, as well as her appearances on the “Good Day New York” morning show. Additionally, Lahmers covered several of FOX 5’s big stories, including Hurricane Irene, Connecticut’s October snowstorm as well as the trial of the serial killer Joshua Komisarjevsky.
