Who is Eazy-E’s ex-wife Tomica Wright?

Born Tomica Woods under the sign of Sagittarius on the 7th of December 1969, in an unspecified part of California, USA, Tomica Wright is a 48-year-old African-American former secretary and music and film producer, but definitely best known for being the wife/widow of the late legendary gangster subgenre rapper Eazy-E. Early Life and Education

Career

Although the details are unspecified, it is known that Tomica always had an interest in music production, and that she worked for a few companies after her graduation. Her first known position was as a secretary in Tabu Records – under Clarence Avant himself, often titled ‘The Godfather of Black Music’ by fans worldwide. Even today, Tomica lists Clarence as her mentor and greatest inspiration. She remained in this position until Clarence switched over to Motown Records in 1993, and Tomica followed him there. Even though she gained the most work experience in this position, it wasn’t until March 1995 that her career really took off, as she became the CEO of Eazy-E’s Ruthless Records. Tomica’s new position incited a lot of controversy among her workers and Eazy-E’s fans, who labeled her underqualified for the job. However, she proved her worth in the years to come, since she accelerated the distribution deals of the company within two years, meanwhile bringing new names into the company’s artist’s portfolio, while working hard to preserve the artists that were already there when she became CEO. Eventually, she was able to prove her competence by winning the Indie Label of the Year award in 1996.

The Encounter – their Marriage

Tomica met Eazy-E through a common friend at a Los Angeles nightclub in 1991. It is reputed that she was somewhat blind to his fame back then, which in turn caused him to take an interest in her. Their relationship began soon afterwards, and they dated for four years, during which time they had a daughter named Daijah. It is rumored that he threw her out of their house a week prior to their wedding – while this is unconfirmed, it is known that Eazy-E was admitted to hospital with asthma-induced difficulties. However, it was soon established that he had AIDS, at which point he stayed in the hospital to get the best possible care. Subsequently, they married in his hospital room on the 19th of March 1995, but the rapper passed away a week later at the age of 30, on the 26th of March; their son Dominick was born six months after Eazy-E’s passing. Following his death, even though Tomica was the legal heir to all of his belongings, his will was contested by six ex-girlfriends and two former business associates.

Her Husband

Born on the 7th of September 1964 in Compton, California USA, Eric Lynn Wright, also known as Eazy-E, was one of the leading West Coast rappers of the gangster rap subgenre. He recorded for Ruthless, Priority, Relativity, Epic and MCA labels, meanwhile closely collaborating with some of the most influential rappers of the genre, such as Arabian Prince, DJ Yella, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and MC Ren, all of whom are founders and members of the rap group called N.W.A, which is an abbreviation for ‘Niggaz Wit Attitudes.’ The group was active from 1986 to 1991, while it had a partial reunion that lasted from 1998 to 2000. As for his illness, he released a statement on the 16th of March 1995, saying: ‘Now, I’m in the biggest fight of my life and it ain’t easy. But I want to say much love to those who have been down with me and thanks for all your support. Just remember: it’s your real time and your real life.’ His funeral was held on the 7th of April 1995 at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California, with at least 3,000 mourners present as he was placed into the ground in a gold casket. His final album came ten months after his death, in January 1996, entitled “Str8 off tha Streetz of Muthaphukkin Compton.”

What is Tomica Wright’s Net Worth?

Close to $10 million, while her current annual income is unknown. Husband’s net worth at the time of his passing was estimated at over $50 million, a considerable slice of which she inherited. She made her own fortune as a music producer, while she earned the most from her long-term presence in the entertainment industry as the CEO of Ruthless Records.
