Story

During the summer of 2003, Kobe Bryant, now a former famous professional NBA player, was scheduled to undergo knee surgery at Eagle, Colorado, so he decided to stay at the nearby Cordillera hotel, where Katelyn Faber was working at the time. Kobe Bryant was quickly arrested by the Eagle sheriff’s office, being accused of sexual assault which was filed by Faber who was 19 at the time. Katelyn told the police that Bryant had raped her in his hotel room the night before his scheduled surgery. The case attracted national attention and wide media coverage due to Bryant’s fame and popularity, as well as the fact that he was married, while Katelyn’s censored photos were published in the news. Bryant admitted that a sexual encounter took place between him and Kately, however, he strongly denied that he raped her or in any way forced her into it. The incident had a huge impact on Bryant’s professional and private life. He lost a large number of his endorsement contracts, and his wife, Vanessa Bryant, filed for divorce a couple of years later. However, in September 2004, the case was dropped when Katelyn refused to testify in the court against Bryant, and afterwards issued Bryant a public apology.

Inaccurate: She didn’t apologize to Kobe, HE apologized to HER.

He didn’t “admit” to strangling and raping her but said he saw how she didn’t consent to sex with him. He settled out of court in a civil suit against him.

Another “hero” with a flawed sense of consensual sex.
