She is the younger sister of professional actress and comedian Kate McKinnon.

Speaking about her professional career, Emily Lynne Berthold started pursuing it right after graduation. She spent some time working as an editor for MultiVu, a media production company. In 2011, Emily wrote, edited and directed her own short comedy film, entitled “Pudding Face”, featuring her sister Kate McKinnon, Tiffani-Amber DiGrazia, and Jake Millgard. Besides that, she made her debut film appearance when she landed the role of Theresa in the short comedy film “Five To Places” (2014), directed by Zack Morrison.
