Who is Kala Savage?

Kala Lynne Savage was born in Highland Park, Illinois USA, on 16 October 1978 – her zodiac sign is Libra, and she holds American nationality. She’s a retired actress, with 12 credits to her name, probably still known best for her portrayal of Little Monster in the popular 1989 family adventure comedy movie “Little Monsters”. It was directed by Richard Greenberg, starred Fred Savage, Howie Mandel and Daniel Stern, and follows a boy who has found an entire world of monsters under his bed; the film was nominated for two awards.

Early life and education

Kala was raised in Highland Park alongside her brothers Fred and Ben, by their mother Joanne who was a real estate broker, and their father Lewis Savage who was a financial consultant; both Fred and Ben are today famous actors and movie directors, with Fred being known best for his role in the comedy series “The Wonder Years”, and Ben for having starred in the sitcom “Boy Meets World”.

Kala became interested in acting when she was around six years old, as she watched movies and TV series with her family nearly every day. She began appearing in her elementary school plays when she was eight, while she made her debut TV series appearance aged 10, when cast to play Anisa in the popular romantic drama “Santa Barbara”.

It was created by Bridget Dobson and Jerome Dobson, starred A Martinez, Marcy Walker and Nancy Lee Grahn, and follows the lives of members of the wealthy Capwell family; the series aired from 1984 to 1993 and won 47 of the 161 awards for which it was nominated.

Following this role, Kala chose to focus on her studies, and didn’t appear in any movies or TV series in the following 10 years. She studied at a local high school, from which she matriculated in 1997, and because she hasn’t spoken of her further education, it’s believed that she hasn’t attended college.
