Right after graduating from college, Kayser decided to move to California and pursue a career in acting. In 1985, he debuted in the movie “Hot Chili” playing the role of Jason, and the following year appeared in the movie entitled “Night of the Creeps” playing the character of Brad. In 1986 Kayser received a big career break, when he joined the hit television series “Mama’s Family”, playing the role of Mitchel “Bubba” Higgins from 1986 to 1990, for which he even received a nomination from the Young Artist Award for the Best Young Actor Guest Starring in a Drama or Comedy Series. The success of “Mama’s Family” also helped his career rise to new heights, and also significantly increased his wealth.

He also went back to movies, and appeared in the films “Shimmer” in 2006 and “All Roads Lead Home” in 2008.
