During Chin’s time in Colorado, she had her first broadcasting experience when she worked for UPN 20 Denver as a sideline reporter. The Denver based television station holds broadcast rights to National Football League (NFL) exhibition games which feature the local team, the Denver Broncos, and was also the local broadcast home of the National Basketball Association (NBA) team, the Denver Nuggets. Other teams it has broadcast include the National Hockey League (NHL) team the Colorado Avalanche, and the Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise, the Colorado Rockies.

Aside from her work there, she also interned at the newspaper called The Coloradoan, a daily newspaper based in Fort Collins. The newspaper has a strong online presence through a website updated throughout the day, featuring news from Northern Colorado.
