Jasmine Guy was born in Boston, Massachusetts USA on 10 March 1962 – her zodiac sign is Pisces, and she holds American nationality. She’s appeared in close to 100 movies and TV series, but is probably still known best for her portrayal of the supporting character Dominique La Rue in the critically acclaimed 1989 crime comedy movie “Harlem Nights”, written and directed by Eddie Murphy, who also starred in it alongside Richard Pryor and Redd Foxx. Set in the 1930s, the film follows the life of the owner of a New York City illegal gambling house; it won two of the five awards for which it was nominated, including an Oscar nomination for Best Costume Design.
Jasmine was raised in Boston alongside her sister Monica, by their Portuguese-American mother Jaye Rudolph who was a high school teacher, and their African-American father Reverend William Vincent Guy, who was a pastor of the Friendship Baptist Church of Atlanta.
