Who is Sussanne Khan?
Indian interior and fashion designer Sussanne Khan, previously known as Sussanne Roshan, was born in Bombay, Maharashtra, India, on 26 October 1975, making Scorpio her zodiac sign. She’s perhaps known best for her family, as her father is famous Indian actor, producer and director Sanjay Khan, while her former husband is Indian actor Hrithik Roshan.
Education and early life
Sussanne was raised in Bombay alongside her younger brother and two older sisters, by their father Sanjay and Indian mother Zarine Katrak Khan who’s also an actress and interior designer; Zarine’s from a Parsi family, and so Sussanne’s of Iranian and Afghan descent. Sussanne’s brother Zayed’s followed in his father’s footsteps and has become a successful actor.
Sussanne was into a number of activities while attending a local high school in Bombay, and she was 16 when she became interested in interior designing; she appeared in a couple of school plays during her teenage years, and also enjoyed singing and dancing.
Upon matriculating in 1993, Sussanne moved to Long Beach, California USA and enrolled at now-defunct Brooks College, from which she graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in 1995; her college closed in 2008.
Sussanne’s career
Sussanne learned the ropes about the interior designing business from her mother, and she launched her career in the USA in 1996.
She began attracting a lot of attention in 2011, when she and Indian movie producer and fashion designer Gauri Khan launched the first interior fashion design store in India called The Charcoal Project; it’s still today the most popular design store in the country.
Sussanne’s also worked for the e-commerce fashion lifestyle company The Label Life; it was founded in 2012 and she became their first interior fashion designer.

Love life and relationships
Sussanne met Hrithik Roshan in 1996, and they married in a private ceremony in 2000; he’s appeared in 43 movies and TV series, and is perhaps known best for starring as Arjun Saluja in the 2011 musical comedy movie “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara”, which won 35 of its 71 award nominations. Hrithik’s won 72 of his 179 award nominations.
Sussanne gave birth to their son Hrehaan Roshan on 28 March 2006, and their second son Hridhaan followed on 1 May 2008; not many other details have been shared about the boys, because Sussanne and Hrithik want to keep them away from media.
Their divorce was finalized in 2014.
Since the spring of 2022, Sussanne’s been in a relationship with Indian actor Arsian Goni.
Interesting facts and hobbies
Sussanne enjoys being active on social media networks and is today followed by over 1.4 million people on Instagram; she’s posted nearly 2,000 pictures and videos, with most featuring her spending time with her friends, sun tanning at the beach and working.
Her career’s taken her to countries on every continent, with the exception of the Antarctic, and her favorite city to visit is Paris, France.
Sussanne’s a philanthropist and together with her parents and siblings, has donated money to various charity organizations working with orphans and the elderly.
She occasionally gives her fans advice on working out and dieting, as she goes to the gym on a daily basis, and follows a strict diet.

Who is her father Sanjay?
Indian actor, producer and director Shah Abbas Ali Khan Tanoli, perhaps known better as Sanjay Khan, was born in Bangalore, British India on 3 January 1941, making Capricorn his zodiac sign. He has 43 acting, eight producing and nine directing credits, and is perhaps still known best for producing all 103 episodes of the 2002 historical series “1857 Kranti”, which starred Maya Alagh and Tej Sapru, and follows the 1857 Indian Revolt.
Sanjay was raised alongside his two sisters and five brothers in Bangalore, by their Persian immigrant mother Bibi Fatima Begum from Iran, and Afghan immigrant father Sadiq Ali Khan Tanoli; Sanjay’s older brother was famous actor Feroz Khan, who died aged 69 on 27 April 2009.
Sanjay was 12 when he watched Raj Kapoor’s movie “Awaara” at the cinema, and after the manager of the cinema took him to the projection room and explained how movies are made, Sanjay fell in love with acting. He studied at Cambridge School in New Delhi, India and upon matriculating in 1959 moved to Mumbai and joined Bollywood.
Sanjay’s debut film role was playing Pilot in the 1962 action adventure “Tarzan Goes to India”, and some of his following roles were in the popular 1964 family musical movie “Dosti”, the 1964 musical war action “Haqeeqat” and the 1966 musical comedy “Dus Lakh”. In 1969, he played the lead character Amar Kumar in the popular musical family movie “Ek Phool Do Mali”, which also starred Balraj Sahni and Sadhana Shivdasani, and was directed by Devendra Doel. The movie follows widowed mother Leela as she’s raising her daughter Somna in the mountainous region of India, and the film was nominated for one award.
Some of Sanjay’s most notable performances in the ‘70s were perhaps in the 1971 drama “Chingari”, the 1973 romantic drama “Daaman Aur Aag”, and the 1977 action “Mera Vachan Geeta Ki Qasam”. The year 1980 saw him star as Emir-e-Rajasthan Sheikh Mohammed Al Qamal in the romantic action “Abdullah”, which he also directed; it follows the life of devout Muslim Abdullah, and the film was nominated for only a single award.
Sanjay’s since had only three roles: he played Raja in the 1986 family movie “Kala Dhanda Goray Log”, an unnamed character in the 2016 series “Spices & Secrets with Zarine Khan”, and another unnamed character in the 2022 comedy movie “TFTNW”.
He’s won only a single award: a 2009 Screen Lifetime Achievement Award.
