Luann Nadeau was born on the 17^th May 1965, in Berlin, Connecticut, USA, one of seven children of Rolande and Roland B. Nadeau, who owned a construction business. Apart from being of American nationality and white ethnicity, Luann is also of French and Algonquin ancestry from her fathers’ side, as well as of French-Canadian descent from her mother’s side.

She attended Berlin High School, where she also excelled at sports, and was appointed as its varsity softball team’s captain. In December 2017, Luann de Lesseps was arrested on several charges, including intoxication, battery of an officer and resisting arrest with violence. She was taken into custody in Palm Beach, Florida, from which she was released a couple of hours later on her own recognizance. She pleaded guilty to a third-degree felony, and was placed on an alcoholic treatment program, and to 50 hours of community service.

In July 2018, Luann faced charges for violating the terms of the divorce, as the 2009 lawsuit claims that she was obligated to establish a trust fund for their children with a total worth of half of the market value of the house which she received in the divorce, located in Bridgehampton, New York. However, she sold the house in 2014 for $8 million, and bought the above-mentioned home in Sag Harbor, without establishing the required trust fund.
