Growing up in Alaska Elliot, was introduced to fishing at an early age and he was fishing on his own when he was only 12 years old. Gradually, his skills improved, and before he was 20, he was already a fishing boat captain. He would start as a deck boss, and after a few years, he progressed to a position of boat’s engineer and sub-captain as well, before he gained that much trust to become a captain himself.

He started on the boat called Rambling Rose, on which he sailed into the show “Deadliest Catch” in 2005.
