After matriculating, he studied at Carnegie-Mellon University and at Duquesne University. After graduating, he started his professional acting career by appearing in support roles in television shows, before in 2002 getting his first major role in the CBS daytime soap opera entitled “As the World Turns” in the role of attorney T. Marshall Travers, often appearing opposite Tamara Tunie. “As the World Turns” is one of the longest running shows on the network, and he stayed in the series for a year before moving to other endeavors.
Acting Career
Rucker was cast in another soap opera in 2005 – entitled “All My Children” – in which he played the role of Garret Williams; the series is another long running soap opera that has had numerous cast members over the years. Concurrently, Lamman also had recurring roles in “All of Us” and “Half & Half” – one of the most watched sitcoms on the UPN network.
Eventually, Rucker would find a lot of work in films by Tyler Perry – in 2007, he was a co-star of “Why Did I Get Married?”, a comedy-drama film starring Janet Jackson, and Jill Scott with the story focused on the difficulty of maintaining relationships in modern times. He then reprised his role in the film’s sequel three years later, entitled “Why Did I Get Married Too?” He also played Will Brown in the film “Meet the Browns”, which led him to reprised his role in the “Meet the Browns” sitcom, which would run from 2009 to 2011.

Later Work
Lamman was cast in the comedy series “Save Me”, but only appeared in the pilot episode, then continued with support roles in both films and television shows. He was also given a regular role in the drama series “South of Hell” in 2015, appearing opposite Mena Suvari. The supernatural horror show focused on demon hunters for hire, and ran for just one season of eight episodes. One of his latest projects is the drama series entitled “Greenleaf’ on the Oprah Winfrey Network, in which he plays one of the leads, Jacob Greenleaf, and which follows the world of the Greenleaf family often filled with lies and secrets.
