Born in Oklahoma, Sartorius was adopted by his parents Pat and Rolf Sartorius when his biological parents weren’t able to take care of him. They then moved to Reston, Virginia, where he now lives with his sister Caroline.

At the age of seven, Sartorius started acting in musicals where he discovered his passion for performing, but which unfortunately also led him to being bullied. In 2014 he discovered the application Vine, and at the age of 11 he went viral for his video about bullying.

Sartorius’ video about bullying was only the beginning of his internet fame. After uploading more videos on Vine, he then joined the lip-syncing application Musical.ly, and started lip-syncing famous songs from various artists, which catapulted him to fame, and also started his net worth by attracting millions of followers.

In 2016, Sartorius was signed to an independent record label, and released his first single entitled “Sweatshirt” on 3 May; the song became a huge hit, entering the US Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. He was even dubbed as the next Justin Bieber by Business Insider.

Later that year, two more singles entitled “Hit or Miss” in July and “All My Friends” in October, which also became hugely popular among his fans, which prompted him to start a tour entitled “All My Friends Tour.” The popularity of his songs and the success of his tour also helped catapult him to fame, and significantly increased his wealth.
