In 1995, Whitfield started working for the network NBC. She started as a correspondent for “NBC News”, and later on moved to live in Atlanta to work for “NBC Nightly News.” Aside from working as an assignment reporter, she also served as a morning and afternoon program anchor. She also appeared in “The Today Show” while with NBC, which she worked for until 2001, and so became an established news anchor. Her time with NBC also helped tremendously in her wealth.
