American social media star Marielle Hadid was born under the zodiac sign Virgo in Washington, D.C. USA, on 7 September 1980. She’s probably only known for being the daughter of Mohamed Hadid, a Palestinian-American businessman and real estate developer, whose net worth’s been estimated at over $5 million.
Marielle’s also known for being a half-sister of Bella Hadid, who’s a famous American model and social media star.
Education and early life
Marielle was raised in Washington D.C. by her father Mohamed and mother Mary, alongside her younger sister Alana Hadid, born on 17 July 1985; the girls’ parents divorced in 1992, and Mohamed married Dutch model Yolanda Van Den Herik in 1994. They divorced in 2000 and Mohamed became engaged to American businesswoman and model Shiva Safai in 2014, but they split before exchanging vows. Marielle’s three half-siblings were born to Yolanda: Gigi on 23 April 1995, Bella followed on 9 October 1996, and Anwar Hadid on 22 June 1999.
Marielle was the first amongst the Hadid siblings to become interested in fashion and modelling, and she was around 15 when she began reading fashion magazines on a daily basis; she was also deeply passionate about dancing and playing sports as a teenager, excelling in running track.
Upon matriculating in 1998, Marielle enrolled at Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in fashion design in 2002; she then moved to Los Angeles, California and took a course at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising.

Not many details have been disclosed about Marielle, but it’s known that she’s been working as a model for nearly 20 years now, and that she’s recently also ventured into fashion designing.

Marielle rarely allows her fans a glimpse into her love life, and although this hasn’t been confirmed by her, it’s widely believed that she was once married to Sammy Aflalo, an American businessman and owner of the company River Water Pecan Farm. The two have two children together, Colette Aflalo and Colton Aflalo, and this is perhaps why people believe that Marielle and Sammy were married; they’re no longer together, but have remained equally involved in raising their children.
Some rumors claim that Marielle and Sammy broke up because he was having an affair with her sister Alana Hadid, who still today wishes Sammy a happy birthday every year, but this remains unconfirmed.
