Who is Marissa McMahon?

Marissa Ann Mazzola was born in New York City, USA, on 4 July 1973 – her zodiac sign is Cancer, and she holds American nationality. She’s a film producer and actress, while she’s perhaps still known best for her portrayal of Bird Merchant in the 2002 action adventure fantasy movie “The Scorpion King”, directed by Chuck Russell, and which starred Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Steven Brand and Michael Clarke Duncan. It follows a desert warrior set on killing the man responsible for the destruction of his homeland, and the movie won two of the five awards for which it was nominated.

Marissa is also known for being the wife of Shane McMahon, a famous American wrestler and businessman.

Early life and education

Marissa was raised in Greenwich, Connecticut, alongside her two brothers, by their American father of Italian descent Anthony Mazzola, who was a businessman, and their mother who was a housewife.

Marissa grew up being focused on her studies, and enrolled at the private all-girls high school Greenwich Academy in 1987; she was interested in various activities during her four years there, including acting with the school’s drama club, singing and dancing.

Upon matriculating in 1991, Marissa enrolled at Boston University, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1995.

Career as an actress

Marissa has six acting credits, including “The Scorpion King”. She made her debut appearance in a 1999 episode of the action sports series “WWE Smackdown!”, created by Vince McMahon, and which starred Michael Coulthard, John Layfield and Nic Nemeth.

It follows World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) stars as they battle during a two-hour weekly show. The same year saw Marissa appear in the episode “Survivor Series ’99 Fallout” of the action sports series “WWE Raw”.

She was cast to play Hostess in the 2000 sports video “Divas: Postcard from the Caribbean”, while she then appeared in a 2000 episode of the sports series “WWE Sunday Night Heat”.

Marissa has since appeared only in “Scorpion King”, and in the 2018 TV special “WrestleMania”.

Producing credits

Marissa founded her own production company Kamala Films in 2005, and made her producing debut in the same year, working on the short comedy movie “Quitters”; it follows roommates Jake and Bobby who have made a bet to see who can last longer without having a cigarette.

In 2007, Marissa worked on the popular crime horror thriller movie “Anamorph”, written and directed by Henry Miller, and which starred Willem Dafoe, Scott Speedman and Don Harvey. It tells the story of the police trying to catch a serial killer, and the movie won a Málaga International Week of Fantastic Cinema Award for Best Actor (Willem Dafoe).

Marissa has produced only two other movies: the 2012 drama “What Maisie Knew”, which won three of the 11 awards for which it was nominated, and the 2018 biographical war drama “A Private War”, which won two of the 12 awards for which it was nominated.

She’s currently working on the upcoming movies “Love Is a Gun” and “An Affair”.

Marissa and Shane prefer to keep the details of their love life to themselves, but have still allowed their fans to have a glimpse into it. They met while they were both attending high school, and married on 14 September 1996, in a large ceremony attended by many of their friends and family members. They chose not to rush with children, as they both wanted to focus on their career, and it was in 2004 that Marissa gave birth to their first son Declan James McMahon; their second son Kenyon Jesse McMahon followed in 2006, and their third Rogan Henry McMahon in 2010.

Shane Brandon McMahon was born in Gaithersburg, Maryland USA, on 15 January 1970 – his zodiac sign is Capricorn, and he holds American nationality. He’s known for a couple of things, including being a minority owner of WWE, and the founder and vice chairman of the global electric vehicle company Ideanomics, Inc.

Shane was raised in Gaithersburg alongside his younger sister Stephanie McMahon, who’s a former wrestler and businesswoman, by their American mother Linda Marie, who’s a political executive, and their American father Vincent Kennedy McMahon, who’s a wrestling promoter. Shane studied at Greenwich High School, and upon matriculating in 1987 enrolled at Boston University, from which he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in communications in 1993.

Shane joined WWE as a referee in 1988, and held the job for around three years, when he became a backstage official. He began wrestling in February 1999, and in the same year won the WWE European Championship with his team The Corporation. Shane entered various feuds in the following decade, including with Kane, D-Generation X and Bobby Lashley, before on 1 January 2010 retiring from WWE; he eventually returned in 2016, and has been wrestling to this day.

He founded the financial technology company China Broadband Inc. on 19 October 2004, and became its CEO on 3 August 2010; Shane then became the CEO of the first video-on-demand service in China, You On Demand, stepping down three years later. Since April 2011, he’s been a member of the Board of Directors of International Sports Management.
