The son of Anne and Stephen Watters, he spent his childhood in Germantown and East Falls, but after he completed his junior year at William Penn Charter School, Jesse and his parents moved to Long Island, New York USA. He later enrolled at Trinity College, Connecticut from which he graduated with a BA in history.
