Zahra was raised in Los Angeles, alongside her older sister Lola Simone Rock, by their father Chris and mother Malaak Compton-Rock, who’s an American businesswoman and philanthropist, perhaps known best for being the founder and director of the non-profit hair salon StyleWorks. Zahra’s parents divorced on 22 August 2016, after Chris admitted that he’d cheated on Malaak, and was addicted to pornography.

American actor, comedian and moviemaker Christopher Julius ‘Chris’ Rock was born under the zodiac sign Aquarius on 7 February 1965, in Andrews, South Carolina USA. He’s appeared in 86 movies and TV series, and is perhaps known best for starring as Andre Allen in the 2014 romantic comedy movie “Top Five”, which he also wrote and directed, and which co-starred Rosario Dawson and Gabrielle Union. It follows a comedian as he’s trying to become a serious actor, and the movie won five of its 26 award nominations.
Chris was raised in New York City alongside his younger sister and five younger brothers, by their father Julies who was a newspaper deliveryman and truck driver, and who died after ulcer surgery in 1988, and mother Rosalie (nee Tingman) who was a teacher and social worker. Chris was often bullied and beaten up by white students while growing up, and this led him to drop out of James Madison High School; he eventually took and passed his GED tests. He worked at various fast-food restaurants prior to launching his career as a comedian.
Chris’ comedic journey began in New York City in the 1980s; he gained recognition for his distinctive style, which blended humor with social and political commentary. Chris’ success in stand-up comedy led to opportunities in the film industry; he wrote and starred in the hit 1993 comedy movie “CB4”, while he then went on to appear in a number of successful movies, such as the 1998 “Lethal Weapon 4”, the 1999 “Dogma”, and in 2000 “Nurse Betty”. One of his most notable roles came in 2001, when cast to voice one the lead characters Marty the Zebra in the animated movie “Madagascar”.
