The younger child of the Oscar Award-winning actor Tom Hanks and his first wife, Samantha Lewis, also an actress, Elizabeth was raised in all the glitz and glamour of Hollywood alongside her older brother, Colin, who has become a successful actor. Five years following Elizabeth’s birth, Tom and Samantha divorced, as Tom started a romantic affair with Rita Wilson, a fellow actress as well. Her mother went into obscurity, and after several years battling with bone cancer, she passed away.
