Alva Jay Wiki Biography
Alva Jay Velasco was born in Southern California USA, on 19 May 1993, so under the zodiac sign of Taurus and holding American nationality – she is most popular for her YouTube channel, while she is also a model and an Instagram star.
Early life and education
Alva is quite secretive when it comes to her early life, as she hasn’t shared much about it with the public. She is said to have been a shy person, and was not liked by her peers at high school, however, things changed after she met her boyfriend Ruben, who she married as soon as she matriculated. Ruben helped her build her self-esteem, and fall in love with her body, as he encouraged her to start going to the gym. Alva decided to completely focus on her career online, and didn’t enroll at college.
She is very secretive when it comes to her family as she hasn’t shared any details regarding her parents with the public, and it is only known that her father owns a jewelry store where she works as a designer. Alva is said to be an only child as she hasn’t mentioned having any siblings.
Career of a YouTuber
Alva’s career began the moment she launched her YouTube channel on 5 September 2011, with a description which reads ‘Hi! My names Alva. I love creating all types of different videos, I really thank you guys for stopping by xoxo | for business inquiries [email protected]’. There are currently more than 265,000 people subscribed to her channel, which also counts nearly 15 million views of all her videos combined.
People love Alva because she shares some very useful tips in her videos completely free of charge, related to fashion, lifestyle, fitness, and beauty. While this is enough for some, those who would want additional details, including complete workout plans and videos of her exercising, have to pay Alva a monthly subscription on her Patreon account.
Besides being a YouTuber, Alva is also a model. She was noticed by modelling scouts while she was still in high school, but was not then ready to get into it. After she matriculated and married her now husband Ruben, the two talked and agreed that Alva should work as a model. She attended her first photoshoot which turned out to be better than she expected, and so received offers for several more, and soon became a sought-after model.
Besides that, she is still working in her father’s store, helping him to design jewelry.
Personal life and relationships
Alva is quite secretive when it comes to her love life, and judging by her social media accounts, she seems to be in love with only one man, and wouldn’t trade him for anything in the world.
Alva and Ruben Hernandez started dating while they were both attending high school – the two are said to have been studying together in the same class but this hasn’t been confirmed. Alva was the one who fell for Ruben first, but didn’t want to take the first step but rather left that for him to do. They fell in love at their very first date, and it appears that the two have been happy together ever since as there are no controversies or rumors regarding their relationship. Moreover, they exchanged their wedding vows as soon as Alva turned 18, but don’t have any children as they both seem to be focused on their careers.
Hobbies and interests
Alva Jay loves watching movies and cannot imagine a more perfect night than lying in her pyjamas with her husband, eating popcorn, and watching a good movie. Her favorite actor is Robert Downey Jr., and favorite actress Jennifer Aniston. Besides movies, she also loves to travel which is one of her biggest passions – being a romantic, her favorite travel destination is Paris, France. She loves to go shopping too, which is something she shares with the majority of women – her favorite color is black although it is not the color she likes to wear. She is also addicted to food, and fortunately salads and vegetable soups are her favorite foods – she has to be careful with what she eats because of her modelling career.
Besides that, Alva has a big passion for exercising and spends a lot of her free time in the gym. She started going to the gym when she was 17 and immediately fell for it – she is exercising 5/7 days a week, and is now only maintaining her current figure and weight.

Are Alva’s boobs real or fake?
One might think that it is quite obvious that Alva’s boobs have been enhanced, however, there’s been some debating about this matter on the internet as a lot of her fans claim that Alva is completely natural. Alva has tweeted that ‘plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures are a personal choice and we shouldn’t get shamed for it. Just saying’.
Appearance and net worth
Alva is currently 26 years old. She has long brown hair and brown eyes, is 5ft 7ins (1.7m) tall, weighs around 123lbs (55kgs), and her vital statistics are 34-24-35; she wears shoes size eight.
According to authoritative sources, her current net worth is estimated to be more than $400,000, and is steadily rising thanks largely to her career as a YouTuber. She is also making money from selling her own merchandise including T-shirts, hoodies, and caps, and from working for her father.
Alva’s Patreon account
Alva is also making money on her Patreon account but it cannot be accessed until you pay one of the monthly subscriptions she offers:
- For $15 per month, you will get one or two workout routines, some photos, two lifesum screenshots, and beauty tips;
- For $25 per month you get three workout plans per week, two videos of her exercising, and the same things from the $15 package;
- For $35 per month you get four workout plans, between two and five videos of her exercising as well as some exclusive photos and mini videos;

- And $100 per month which includes one personal 30 minutes long Skype call with her every month, and you can discuss whatever you want to.
Because her account is hidden and cannot be seen without paying the subscription first, it is not known how many people are subscribed to her channel, and how much money she makes each month.
Social media presence
Alva also has her private snap and her description on the website reads ‘Welcome to my private snap. I’m an online blogger and part time YouTuber. 1 | [on his film Chef (2014)] It was nice to work on a little movie like this again, where I have so many responsibilities between writing and directing and acting, and you live and die by your own talents. I missed the feeling of doing something small and personal, where I wouldn't have to explain my vision to anyone but the people I was collaborating with. |
2 | (on briefly working in banking): I gave two weeks' notice a week before Black Monday. But it was very strange because I thought I would be working on Wall Street my whole life. It was the go-go '80s; there were yellow ties. It was just an exciting moment. And although I wasn't involved in the trading side of things, I was still around that culture, and I ultimately decided it just wasn't for me. As a matter of fact, I wanted to be a New York City firefighter. I didn't make it in, though. |
3 | (On directing Mickey Rourke): There was a maze of things that had to be worked through, but it was usually because I was not accurate enough in what I was asking for. To simply say to an actor like Mickey Rourke, ''Stand there and say what's in this comic-book movie,'' is not going work. That ain't why you hire Mickey Rourke. |
4 | I wanted to do a Christmas movie. I had been offered Surviving Christmas (2004), and I opted not to pursue that one any further. And then Elf (2003) came along and I thought it really plays into my sensibilities. I thought the one thing about Will Ferrell that I had not seen him do a lot was show his heart as a person and a performer. In developing the script, although it was edgy and irreverent at times, I wanted to keep it a PG movie, not a PG-13 movie that made fun of Christmas. |
5 | I don't 'handle' people. It's so much easier to manipulate actors than to really have an earnest discussion with them. It's very easy to say whatever's going to appease them and then turn around and do whatever you want to do. It's difficult to be forthright with people, because the job does not lend itself to that. |
6 | I've always wanted to call the shots because I would rather fail than not have a chance to figure it out on my own. I'm a very lazy person by nature. I have to be really engaged, and then I go straight from lazy to obsessive. I couldn't study chemistry, but I could memorize all the books for Dungeons and Dragons. It was ridiculous. The trick is to find what I like to do. |
