Ameera David was born on the 21st August 1986, in the USA, the daughter of Warren David, an American and his wife, Amar Khalil David, of Middle-Eastern ancestry, and shared her childhood with an older sister, Zayna Bakes. When it comes to her education, after finishing high school, Ameera enrolled at the University of Michigan from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Spanish Language, and Anthropology. Ameera furthered her studies at Columbia University from which she obtained a master’s degree in journalism.

Career Beginnings

Ameera began her career as an intern at WDET 101.9 FM Detroit Public Radio in December 2009, where she worked for eight months. Following this stint, Ameera became a web content producer/writer for Arab Detroit in July 2008, and for the next year and three months she held the position, which brought her highly needed experience for her further career. Her next stop was NBC News’ Washington bureau in 2011, but she remained there only for one year before she started searching for new engagement, but during her time there worked as a White House news producer, news production assistant and in several other positions. Her hard work paid off in mid- 2012 when she was recruited by the RT America; she started as a producer and reporter, and after three years Ameera was named news anchor for the station, covering breaking news and hosting several other news programs.

She remained at RT America until January 2017, when she left to join WXYZ, which is an ABC affiliate headquartered in Detroit. Her time at RT America helped her a lot in gaining knowledge and experience, and she became responsible for news anchoring and reporting, working behind the scenes as hard as in front of the camera. Since joining WXYZ, Ameera has become a national star, one of the most praised news anchors and reporters of the network, which has only increased her wealth.
