Upon matriculation from Sonoma Valley High School in 1984, he enrolled at California State University, Sacramento. His professional career began in 1994, and his first major acting appearance occurred just a year later, when he began starring in the HBO’s hit television comedy series “Mr. Show with Bob and David”. Since then Brian has added almost 120 acting credits to his professional portfolio, including appearances in some of the globally popular and praised TV series such as “Seinfeld”, “Everybody Loves Raymond”, “Californication”, “Kim Possible”, “The Simpsons”, “Will & Grace” and “New Girl” as well as in movies including “Run Ronnie Run” (2002), “Sleeping Dogs Lie” (2006), “Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer” (2007), “Sex Drive” (2008), “The Five-Year Engagement” (2012) and the title role in the 2015 comedy movie “Uncle Nick”.
For his great performances in the TV series “Mr. Show with Bob and David”, Posehn was nominated for the prestigious Primetime Emmy Award in 1998 and 1999, however, his most memorable acting engagement to this day is certainly the portrayal of the recurring role of geologist Bert Kibbler in the CBS’s hit sitcom and Golden Globe-winning TV series “The Big Bang Theory”.
