He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys as the first pick overall in the 1989 NFL Draft, and spent his entire career with the Cowboys, retiring in 2000. He was instrumental in winning three Super Bowls, in 1992, 1993 and 1995, with the best season in 1992 when he had 23 touchdowns and 3,445 yards. During his career, Troy played in six Pro Bowl games, consecutively from 1991 until 1996, while in 1997 he won the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award. He was also inducted into the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor. He finished his career with 4,715 pass attempts with 2,898 completed passes. He had 165 touchdowns in total and 141 interceptions, while his number of passing yards was 32,942.
