Courtney grew up in Bunbury, where her father worked as an IT manager. She is of Australian and English descent from her father’s side while she has Chinese as well as Maori ancestry through her mother’s side. She attended Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School (BCGS) which is an independent school located in Gelorup, a semi-rural suburb south of Bunbury, providing education up to secondary level.

They have around 900 students at the school situated on 33 hectares of bushland, with sporting and boarding facilities within the campus. She took up fashion classes at the age of 11, and during graduation was spotted by the head of Vivien’s Models Christine Fox. She asked for permission from Courtney’s father and he accepted, signing her for a model preparatory program which would lead her to modelling work at the age of 16. During her time with Vivien’s models, she took part in an acting workshop as a part of her development, setting up her future career.

In 2015, Eaton was in Sydney, Australia, and decided to audition for the film “Mad Max: Fury Road”, leading her to be cast as Cheedo the Fragile, the youngest of the five wives of Immortan Joe. The film is based on and revisits the “Mad Max” franchise, being the fourth installment. It’s set in a desert wasteland in a post-apocalyptic world, where water and petrol are scarce. The main character, Max joins forces with Imperator Furiosa to flee from cult leader Immortan Joe and his army. The chase then leads to a lengthy road battle.

The project proved successful, grossing over $400 million worldwide at the box office, making it the most financially successful of the franchise and considered one of the best films of the year, even of all time. The following year, she starred in the fantasy action film called “Gods of Egypt”, appearing alongside Gerard Butler and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and playing the love interest of one of the main characters, played by Brenton Thwaites. as the name denotes, the film is based on ancient Egyptian deities, and follows the story of a hero who partners with a god to rescue his love.

Recent Projects

In 2017, Courtney was cast in the romantic drama film entitled “Newness”, which stars her alongside Nicholas Hoult and Laia Costa. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, before finding a theatrical release later in the year. The following year, she starred with Ross Lynch in the fantasy comedy film entitled “Status Update”; it was released direct to video and also cast Olivia Holt. It only had a limited theatrical release, before becoming available through video on demand. It follows the story of a popular high school student who discovers a new app that brings his fantasies to life.

Her latest project is the science fiction film entitled “Perfect”; she stars alongside Garrett Wareing, Tao Okamoto, and Maurice Compte, in the film about a young man finding the corpse of his girlfriend lying in the bed next to him; he then goes to a genetic engineering clinic where people can transform their minds and bodies. The film was premiered at South by Southwest in early-2018, and was released theatrically in mid-2019. The film didn’t score great reviews, as the film lacked ambition.
