However, she is probably best known for portraying the character of Sloane Denning Clegg Mamoud in the 1980s CBS soap opera series “Capitol”. Deborah Mullowney was born under the zodiac sign of Libra on the 30th September 1959, in Lucas Valley, California, USA, one of four children of Kate and Henry Mullowney. Apart from being of white ethnicity and of American nationality, she is also of part-Irish ancestry. Her siblings include two sisters and a brother, whose identities and vocations haven’t been publicly disclosed.

Her acting debut occurred in 1982, when she landed one of the main recurring roles in the critically praised American soap opera “Capitol”. The plot follows various political intrigues around the US Capitol in Washington D.C., and the lives of people involved within. Debra portrayed TV reporter Sloane Denning, and appeared in over 1,200 episodes through the show’s five-season run, for which she was also honored with two nominations for the Soap Opera Digest Award in 1988.

This engagement massively helped establish her as a promising actress, and set her career on the path to stardom.

After “Capitol”, she was cast for the recurring role of Susan Smith in the ABC TV comedy drama series “Hooperman”, over 1987 and ‘88. To greater prominence Debrah came in 1990, when she starred as Julie Janovich in the Golden Globe-nominated TV romantic drama series “Equal Justice”, after which she made a streak of big screen appearances in movies such as the 1991 Oscar-winning biographical drama film “Bugsy”, and the 1993 critically praised thriller movie “Malice”.

With her popularity on the rise, during the late 1990s Farentino added several major recurring small screen engagements to her acting portfolio, such as in popular series “NYPD Blue”, “Earth 2”, “EZ Streets” as well as “Total Security, “Storm of the Century” and “Get Real”. In 1990 Debrah married Irish film producer Tony Adams, with whom she welcomed a daughter named Molly Adams who was born in 1991, and is now a photographer, before they divorced in 1994.

From 1994 to 2009, she was married to 15-years-older American film director and nine-time Primetime Emmy Award-winning producer Gregory Hoblit, with whom she welcomed another daughter, Sophie Hoblit born in 1995, and is also now an actress recognized for appearing in the 2007 crime drama movie “Fracture”.
