Born Howard Allan Stern on the 12th January 1954, in Queens, New York City USA, he is a television and radio host, who achieved fame through his own “The Howard Stern Show”, launched in 1986.

Howard is the son of Ben and Ray Stern, and is of Polish and Austrian-Hungarian ancestry. He has an older sister, named Ellen. He went to Roosevelt Junior-Senior High School, and also to Hebrew school. After high school, he enrolled at Boston University, though because of low grades in school, he had to spend his first two years in its College of Basic Studies.

He eventually obtained a degree from the Radio Engineering Institute of Electronics in Fredericksburg, which got him a first-class radio-telephone operator licensee, which was required for all radio broadcasters in the country to become professionals.
