Who is Dan Avidan?
Leigh Daniel “Dan” Avidan was born on 14 March 1979, in Springfield, New Jersey, USA. He is a musician, actor, internet personality, comedian, and singer, best known for performing under the stage name Danny Sexbang, as one half of the musical comedy duo called Ninja Sex Party alongside Brian Wecht.
The Net Worth of Dan Avidan
How rich is Dan Avidan? As of early-2019, sources inform us of a net worth that is at $3 million, earned through success in his various endeavors. He has also participated in the web series “Game Grumps” alongside Arin Hanson, and is a member of the video game-based comedy music band called Starbomb. As he continues his career, it is expected that his wealth will also continue to increase.
Early Life, Education, and Career Beginnings
Dan is of Israeli and American descent – his father served in the Yom Kippur War before moving to the US where he met Dan’s mother. He grew up alongside a younger sister in Springfield, where he attended Jonathan Dayton High School from which he matriculated in 1997.
Afterwards, he enrolled at Boston University, intending to pursue an advertising career. During his senior year at the university, he entered a student exchange program which allowed him to attend a Tufts University satellite campus located in Talloires, France, where he studied botany and epidemiology. After graduating, he responded to a Craigslist ad which led him to join the independent rock band called The Northern Hues, based in Philadelphia, beginning his foray into the music industry, becoming the group’s lead singer and lead songwriter as well. They released a self-titled EP and a recorded live track, however, the band split up in the middle of 2005 due to creative differences and personality conflicts.
Ninja Sex Party
In 2006, Avidan formed the alternative rock duo called Skyhill of which he was the lead singer, and they released a full album called “Run With the Hunted”, but separated two years later simply to try new projects. He then took up classes with the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, studying improvisation and storytelling. During his time there, he envisioned a new musical project and later met musical director Brian Wecht. The duo formed Ninja Sex Party, with the name of the band being based on their three favorite things; he created the character Danny Sexbang and Wecht created Ninja Brian.
They initially gained popularity after a performance in the comedy show “Stripped Stories”, and were inspired by works of The Lonely Island as well as Flight of the Conchords. The band is about a Jewish superhero and his ninja best friend, who try unsuccessfully to hit on women. They have released several singles and studio albums together, several reaching the Billboard charts. They also made their live television debut in the late night talk show entitled “Conan”, and have performed in various film festivals, including SXSW and Dragon Con.
Video Game Endeavors
In 2013, “Game Grumps” co-creator Arin Hanson invited Dan to replace Jon Jafari after he left his position as the co-host of the web series. The two previously worked on an animated project together, but his initial appearance met with a negative response as fans still wanted Jafari to host the show. Eventually he gained acceptance with the team, and also became the co-host of “Steam Train” in which he plays PC games, as opposed to console games from “Game Grumps”. He has also hosted other shows on their platform, and remains with the team.
He also formed the side band called Starbomb, alongside Hanson and Wecht. The band writes parody songs about video games, mixing the provocative style of Ninja Sex Party and video game humor written by Hanson. They have released two successful albums, gaining ground on various Billboard charts. In 2015 he tried his hand at acting, working on the YouTube premium comedy web series called “Good Game”, in which he plays an eSports coach, with his performance being well received by critics. One of his recent projects is the animated television series “Mighty Magiswords”, working on the theme song of the show.

Despite all of his exposure through music and his work on YouTube, he has not mentioned a lot about his personal life, but has confirmed through a social media post that he is in a relationship, posting several photos with a girl named Ashley in early-2019.
Similar to numerous music and internet personalities, he is highly active online, having an account on popular social media websites such as Twitter and Instagram. He posts a lot of comedic photos on the latter, along with throwback photos of himself while working. He also posts several pictures of himself alongside his girlfriend, often travelling to various locations. He has a Twitter account, but which has not been active since 2014, instead directing his attention to his work on YouTube. He is a part of three channels on the website, the music channels of Ninja Sex Party and Starbomb, and continues to contribute regularly to Game Grumps. He uploads with Hanson twice a day, hoping to cover as many new video games as possible.
