His parents were owners of health clubs, which made Charlie’s growing up rather easy in a financial way. He went to Salesianum High School in Wilmington, Delaware, but only briefly as he left the school and began studies at a cyber school, Pa Leadership Charter School or (PALCS). He moved to Los Angeles when he was only 16 years old, in order to focus entirely on an acting career.

Career Beginnings and Appearance in the “Office”

Charlie’s career started in 2004 with a minor role in the film “The Village”, while the same year he also had his first recurring role, as Young Gerald in the TV series “Windy Acres”. He continued to build his career with roles in such films as “Disappearances” in 2006, co-starring Kris Kristofferson and Gary Farmer, while two years later, he had his first feel of real success, when he was chosen for the part of T.J. in the crime-drama film “Frozen River”, starring alongside Melissa Leo and Misty Upham, for which Charlie earned an Independent Spirit Award nomination in the category Best Supporting Male. While on the show, Charlie secured other notable roles, in comedy films such as Chaz in the film “Hot Tub Machine” (2010), with John Cusack, Rob Corddry and Craig Robinson in the lead roles, while he also starred in the crime-drama film “Bond of Silence”, with Kim Raver and Greg Grunberg. After that, he became more focused on the TV series, but returned to the big screen in 2015 with the part of Henry in the comedy film “ImagiGary”.
