Three years later, she secured another notable role, this time as Liz in the horror-comedy film “Shaun of the Dead”, and continued with lead roles in the romantic drama film “The Trouble with Men and Women” (2005), and the thriller comedy film “The Baker” (2007), co-starring Nicolaj Coster-Waldau and Damian Lewis.
Two years later, she secured the role of Miep Gies in the TV mini-series “The Diary of Anne Frank”, and the same year appeared in the TV mini-series “Collision”.
Nothing changed for Kate with the start of the current decade – one of her first roles was in the drama film “My Brothers” in 2010, and in 2011 she had a supporting role in the drama film “Late Bloomers”, starring Isabella Rossellini and William Hurt. Her career stagnated for a while, but she re-emerged with the role of Margaret in the thriller film “Still” (2014), and continued with the horror film, “Hangman”, and then as Vanessa Richardson in the TV crime-drama series “Secrets and Lies”, both in 2015. Most recently, she was cast as Mary Parker in the TV series “Sanditon” (2019), and is working on the film “Suicide Tourist”, which is currently in post-production and scheduled for release late in 2019.
