It is a private college preparatory school which was established in 1889 and is one of the oldest continually operating schools in the state. She started her career at a young age, when she was noticed by a modelling agency in Los Angeles which offered her a contract to model internationally. Ramirez started her career appearing as a guest in several popular soap operas including “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “Days of Our Lives”. In 2000, she got her big break when she joined the cast of the soap opera “General Hospital” in the role of supermodel Gia Campbell. It is a daytime medical drama listed as the longest running American soap opera in production, and the second longest in history after “Guiding Light”. The show has won 13 Daytime Emmy Awards, holding the record for most wins for Outstanding Drama Series.
Marisa played that role for two years, and then left the show to become a part of the ABC drama entitled “Miracles”, however, that show was short lived, being cancelled after its first season. In 2006, she joined the cast of the soap “The Young and the Restless”, playing the public relations consultant Carmen Mesta for five months. The soap airs on CBS and is set in the fictionalized version of Genoa City, Wisconsin. It initially focused on two core families, though later introduced other characters to the show, but her character was later killed off, though she returned the following year to play Carmen’s cousin named Ines.
Recent Projects – Blue Bloods
Marisa then moved to Colombia to work on the series “Mental” alongside Annabella Sciorra and Chris Vance, however, the show had declining ratings during its first season leading to its cancellation. In 2011, she became a series regular in the Lifetime show “Against the Wall” in which she played Detective Lina Flores. It is a police procedural starring Rachael Carpani as a detective, who recently joined the Chicago Police Department – the show had good reviews but wasn’t renewed for a second season.
Shortly afterwards she then joined the Starz series “Spartacus: Gods of the Arena”, which was filmed in New Zealand, and is a miniseries following the character Gannicus as the first gladiator to become the champion of Capua. She then had a recurring role in the show “Body of Proof”, which aired from 2011 to 2013.
One of her latest projects is the series “Blue Bloods” starring Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, and Bridget Moynahan, in which she plays a New York Police Department (NYPD) detective. It is a police procedural series following members of the fictional Raegan family living in New York. The family has a history of working in law enforcement.

For her personal life, it is known that Ramirez married Nathan Lavezoli in 2002 and their marriage lasted for nine years before they divorced.
