Melissa Stark was born on the 11th November 1973, in Baltimore, Maryland USA, the daughter of Walter Stark, an eye-surgeon who works at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, at the world-famous Wilmer Eye Clinic in Baltimore, Maryland; there is no detailed information about her mother. She went to Roland Park Country School in Baltimore, which is a prestigious all-girls college preparatory school. Following her matriculation, Melissa enrolled at the University of Virginia, from which she obtained a degree in Foreign Affairs and Spanish language.
Melissa started her career as an intern for WMAR-TV in her native Baltimore, working on the assignment desk, where she remained from 1991 until 1993. After her stint ended, she joined CBS and started by serving as a news intern for the “CBS Evening News with Dan Rather”, from 1993 until 1994. She was in charge of writing scripts and was also focused on collecting information on investigative pieces for health correspondent at the time, Dr. Bob Arnot.
