Early life and education

Nicoletta was raised in France by her parents, about whom not a lot is known as she respects their privacy; it’s said that her mother was the owner of a bakery, and that her father was a chef. Because Nicoletta hasn’t mentioned having any siblings, most fans believe her to be an only child.

She grew up being a huge fan of Chinese culture, watching Chinese both live-action and animated movies, and learning a bit of Mandarin language all on her own.

It follows a girl who has just tried to commit suicide, because her Chinese boyfriend has been sent to jail for mourning premier Zhou.

She worked as a third assistant director on the critically acclaimed 1987 biographical historical movie “The Last Emperor”, written and directed by Bernardo Bertolucci, and which starred John Lone, Joan Chen and Peter O’Toole. The movie follows the life of the last Emperor of China, and won 69 awards, including nine Oscars, while it was nominated for 22 other awards.

Nicoletta then worked as a second assistant director on the 1988 science fiction horror movie “Transformations”, directed by Jay Karmen, and which starred Rex Smith, Lisa Langlois and Patrick Macnee. It follows the life of Wolfgang, as he’s travelling around outer space.

Nicoletta has only one other credit: she worked as a second assistant director on the 1990 adventure movie “The Sheltering Sky”, once again written and directed by Bernardo Bertolucci, and which starred John Malkovich, Debra Winger and Campbell Scott. It follows an American couple who have gone on a trip in an attempt to save their relationship; the movie won 10 awards, including a BAFTA for Best Cinematography, while it was nominated for eight other awards.
