Early Life and Education
Stephanie was born one of three children, under the zodiac sign of Aries on the 28th March 1986 in Chicago, Illinois, USA, and apart from being of American nationality, she is also of white ethnicity. Further details about her childhood as well as her family’s background and parents’ identities and vocations have never been publicly disclosed to the present day, except that she has two sisters who are named Emily and Brittany.
When it comes to Stephanie’s schooling background, upon matriculating from Hinsdale South High School in Darien, Illinois, in 2009 she enrolled at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, from which she graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in geography with a minor in journalism. During her studies, between 2011 and 2013 she served as the University’s community advisor.
Stephanie dived into the world of broadcast journalism while still on her studies, when in January 2011 as an undergraduate she joined the Northern Television Centre in DeKalb, where she honed her skills over the course of the next two years, serving not only as a weather anchor but as a reporter as well, while simultaneously coping with her studies. In mid-2012 she spent three months learning the ‘tricks of the trade’ as an intern at the ABC’s and MyNetworkTV’s dual affiliated television station WTVO-TV Channel 17 in Rockford, Illinois.
Upon completing her studies and obtaining her BS degree, in October 2013 Mead transferred to Twin Falls, Idaho, where she joined the CBS’s affiliated television station KMVT for which she began her ‘tenure’ as a meteorologist, forecasting the weather on weekends, while occasionally filling in for the evening and morning shows as well. She subsequently joined KMVT’s sister television station – the Fox’s and MyNetworkTV’s affiliated channel KSVT-LD, for which she primarily served as a weather reporter.

To a greater prominence Stephanie came in April 2015, when she relocated to Green Bay, Wisconsin, where she became a crew member of the NBC 26. She was appointed as its morning weather forecaster as well as a newsroom reporter, and spent the course of the next two years covering the mid-western area of the US, often reporting in sub-zero temperatures from the National Football League’s Green Bay Packers’ Lambeau Field athletic stadium, as well as covering a vast number of thunderstorms and blizzards. For her great ‘performances’ and her professionalism, in 2016 and 2017 Mead was honored with a nomination for the prestigious National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ Upper Midwest Emmy Award.
However, the real breakthrough in Stephanie Mead’s career occurred in April 2017, when after two years spent in Wisconsin, she moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, where she joined the WISH-TV’s Storm Track 8 Weather team. Since then she’s served as its weathercaster as well as its traffic anchor, covering the entire area of Indianapolis. She can also be seen on daily News 8 Daybreak broadcasts between 4 and 10am.
