Who is Edwin Luna?
Popular Mexican singer-songwriter, model and social media star Edwin Luna, was born under the zodiac sign Virgo on 6 September 1987, in Monterrey, Mexico. He’s perhaps known best for being the frontman of the band Edwin Luna y La Trakalosa de Monterrey, while he had previously been a member of the bands Band Escandalosa, Liberacion and Los Grandes de Sinaloa. Edwin’s also popular for his presence on the internet; more than 3.7 million people are following him on the network today, and he’s posted over 100 pictures videos, with most being about his music.

Education and early life
Edwin was raised alongside his three older brothers in Monterrey, by their late father Don Miguel Luna, perhaps known better as ‘El Gorrion’, who was half of the famous music duo El Palomo y El Gorrion; the name of Edwin’s mother remains undisclosed.
He was around six when he became passionate about music, and eight when he performed live for the first time, after his father brought him onto the stage. Edwin then spent several years hating music, mostly because his family forced him to sing at parties and family gatherings; he became interested in it again while attending a local high school, and was 15 when he joined his first band. Edwin changed a couple of bands in the following years, including Piricuaco Band, Virgilio Canales y Liberacion, and Banda Sinaloa.
He matriculated in 2006, and then focused on music rather than enrolling at college.
Music career
It was in 2010 that Edwin and former members of the band La Real Banda Chilera founded the new band Banda la Escandalosa; they signed to Remex Musi in October of the same year, however, the year 2011 saw most of the members quit to work on other projects.
This led Edwin to invite various new members, and they changed their name to Banda la Trakalosa de Monterrey. Their debut single “Despues de Ti No Hay Nada” came out in June 2011 and reached the top 20 on several Mexican charts; the band’s following single “San Lunes” was released in November, and topped the Northern Mexico Radio Chart. They then also backed El Pelon del Mikrophone on their hit song “La Cumbia Tribalera”.
Banda la Trakalosa covered the song “Doble Vida” by Salvador Aponte in 2012 and it topped various Mexican charts; the band’s compilation album was released by the end of the year, and their studio album “De Monterrey a Sinaloa” followed in the first half of 2013.
The lead single “Broche de Oro” from their second album “La Banda Grande de la Sultana del Norte” was released in 2014, and Banda la Trakalosa then collaborated with Tierra Sagrada on their new album “Reto de Exitos ReMex”. Their compilation album “Asi Cantaba Mi Padre” followed in 2016, and the year 2017 saw them release two albums: “Mi Otro Yo” and “10+10”.
In 2019 they released their album “Me Hicisite un Borracho”, since when they haven’t released any new music but have performed all around Latin America.
YouTube channel
Edwin launched his YouTube channel “Edwin Luna – Mi Otro Yo” on 21 June 2017, and it’s today subscribed to by over 550,000 people, while all its 316 videos combined have been watched nearly 100 million times. Although initially focused solely on uploading music videos, Edwin nowadays also posts videos which feature him spending time with his fans, speaking about his everyday life and promoting his upcoming songs. We’ll be covering his three most popular videos, as these have contributed to his overall popularity.
Edwin’s #1 video “La Niña De Tus Ojos | Edwin Luna” was uploaded on 19 July 2018 and has since been watched over 16 million times; it features Edwin spending time with his newborn daughter.
His second most popular video “Mis Ojos Lloran Por Ti – Edwin Luna” was posted on 25 July 2017 and has since been viewed more than 13 million times; it features him and Pedro Cuevas singing the song “Mis Ojos Lloran Por Ti”.
Edwin’s #3 most viewed video “Dime Que Si (Video Oficial) | Edwin Luna” was posted on 4 August 2017 and has since been watched over 12 million times; it’s his official music video.
Love life and marriage
Edwin doesn’t shy away from speaking about his love life in public and it’s known that he’s today married and has four children.
He and Mexican social media star and model Kimberly Flores have been married for more than five years now, but the exact date of their wedding remains undisclosed; Kimberly’s followed by over 2.5 million people on Instagram and has posted nearly 900 pictures and videos onto the network, with most of these showing her spending time with Edwin and their children.
Edwin and Kimberly have sons Damianccito and Kean Elian, and daughters Dashayulied Luna and Gianna Luna Flores; they are keeping their children away from media, and their exact birthdates remains undisclosed.
There are no other women whom Edwin’s perhaps been with, that we know about; he’s married to Kimberly Flores as of September 2023 and they have four children together.

Edwin’s a fan of a tattoos and has many, which can be seen in some of his Instagram pictures.
He’s physically quite active, and works out at the gym at least twice a week, thus his muscular body.
Edwin was once passionate about travelling, and visited various countries around the world, but he nowadays prefers to stay home in Mexico City with his wife and children.
He occasionally works as a model, and has been featured on the cover page of several Mexican lifestyle magazines.
One of Edwin’s favorite actors is Danny Trejo, and some of his favorite movies are “Once Upon a Time in Mexico”, “Blood in Blood Out”, and “Predators”.
