Who is Freddie Thorp?

British actor Frederick Nicholas ‘Freddie’ Thorp was born under the zodiac sign Aries on 7 March 1994, in Kensington and Chelsea, London, England. He has just 10 acting credits, and is perhaps known best for playing Garrett Foster, one of the main characters in the 2017 action crime adventure movie “Overdrive”, which also starred Ana de Armas and Scott Eastwood, and was directed by Antonio Negret; it follows the lives of two car thief brothers.

Education and early life

Freddie was raised in Kensington and Chelsea alongside his older sister Ophelia, by their mother Antonia Manley and father Nick Thorp; not many details have been shared about Freddie’s family as he respects their privacy.

In 2018, he starred as Chris Chahal in all eight episodes of the crime mystery mini-series “Safe”, which also starred Amy James-Kelly and Michael C. Hall, and was created by Harlan Coben; it follows a widowed surgeon whose teenage daughter’s gone missing.

The year 2018 also saw Freddie play Matthieu Beny in an episode of the critically acclaimed romantic fantasy “A Discovery of Witches”, which starred Teresa Palmer and Matthew Goode, and follows historian and witch Diana Bishop as she’s trying to solve the mysteries of Ashmole 782 together with vampire Matthew Clairmont; the series won two of its 13 award nominations.

Freddie’s only other TV series role has been playing one of the main characters Riven in all 13 episodes of the 2022 action adventure “Fate: The Winx Saga”, which also starred Precious Mustapha, Hannah van der Westhuysen and Abigail Cowen, and was created by Brian Young. It follows Bloom as she’s adjusting to life in Otherworld and is learning to control her magical powers, and the series won a 2021 ReFrame Stamp – IMDbPro Top 200 Most Popular TV Titles.

Roles in movies

Freddie’s debut film role was playing Tommy Reese in the 2015 drama “The Advocate”, which starred Christina Chang and Kim Raver, and was directed by Michael M. Robin; it follows a woman who’s survived a medical scare and has become an advocate for other victims of the American healthcare system.

In 2016, he portrayed Terry Medina in the thriller “The Head Hunter”, which starred Debora Weston and Tom Durant Pritchard, and was directed by Tom Keeling. Set in California in 1972, the movie follows the police as they’re investigating the murders of hitchhiking girls, and it won two of its five award nominations.

Also in 2016, Freddie portrayed Tommy in the drama “To Dream”, which starred Jayson Benovichi Dicken and Billy Barratt, and was directed by Nicole Albarelli. It follows the lives of two self-destructive teenagers who’ve become best friends, and the film won four of its six award nominations.

Freddie’s only other film role has been portraying Michael in the 2022 drama “Summit Fever”, which starred Hannah New and Ryan Phillippe, and was written and directed by Julian Gilbey; it follows a group of friends as they’re trying to scale the world’s most challenging trio of mountains.

Freddie avoids speaking about his love life in public, and although some of his fans believe him to be gay, it’s widely known that he was once in a relationship with popular American actress Sophie Robertson.

Sophie’s appeared in eight movies and TV series, and she’s perhaps known best for portraying Arabella Acaster in five episodes (2022) of the crime thriller series “Miss Scarlet & the Duke”, which has been airing since 2019 and has won one of its two award nominations; it follows Eliza Scarlet and a Scotland Yard inspector as they’re solving crimes together in 19th century London.
