Who is Faye Marsay?

British actress Faye Elaine Marsay was born under the zodiac sign Capricorn in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England, on 30 December 1986. She has 27 acting credits, and is perhaps known best for playing The Waif in 11 episodes (2015-2016) of the hit action adventure series “Game of Thrones”, which starred Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke, and was created by D. B. Weiss. It follows the fight over the lands of Westeros between nine noble families, the series aired from 2011 through 2019 and won 389 of over 1,000 awards for which it was nominated.

Education and early life

Faye was raised in Loftus, North Yorkshire by her mother Elaine Marsay who was a secretary, and father Chris Marsay who was a firefighter; because Faye’s yet to speak about having siblings, most of her fans believe her to be an only child.

She studied at Laurence Jackson School, and it was during her time there that she became passionate about acting, starring in a number of school productions. Faye matriculated in 2005, and enrolled at Prior Pursglove College; she transferred to the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School two years later, and some of the plays in which she appeared there were “The Good Soul in Szechuan”, “Disco Pigs” and “Hard Times”.

Faye graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2012 and then began working on her way up in the film industry.

Faye’s debut film role was playing a supporting character in the 2008 drama “Helen”, and the same year saw her play Sue in the comedy “Is That It?”, which starred Hadley Webb and Amy Richardson, was written and directed by Philip Sinclair, and follows the lives of five teenage girls.

In 2014, Faye played Steph Chambers in the biographical comedy “Pride”, which starred Bill Nighy and Imelda Staunton, and was directed by Matthew Warchus. It follows a group of UK gay activists as they’re helping miners during the National Union of Mineworkers’ strike in 1984; the film won 10 of its 35 award nominations. The year 2015 saw Faye star in the short drama “Nipplejesus”, and then played Sybil in the 2017 biographical war drama “Darkest Hour”.

The year 2017 saw her appear in the comedy “You, Me and Him”, which starred David Tennant and Nina Sosanya, and was written and directed by Daisy Aitkens. It follows the lives of Alex and Olivia, a lesbian couple who want to have a baby.

In 2018, Faye portrayed Kate Richardson in the biographical drama “A Private War”, which starred Alexandra Moen and Rosamund Pike, and was directed by Matthew Heineman. It follows the life of war correspondent Marie Colvin, and the movie won two of its 12 award nominations.

Faye’s debut TV series role was playing one of the lead characters Anne Neville in all 10 episodes of the 2013 historical romantic mini-series “The White Queen”, which starred Rebecca Ferguson and Aneurin Barnard, and follows three entirely different women competing for the throne in 15th century England; the mini-series was nominated for 12 awards.

The same year saw Faye play Candice Pelling in eight episodes of the comedy “Fresh Meat”, while the year 2014 saw her play Lizzie in four episodes of the crime mystery “The Bletchley Circle”. Also in 2014, she portrayed the main character Janine in the crime mystery mini-series “Glue”, which also starred Billy Howle and Yasmin Paige, and follows the aftermath of a murder of a teenage boy in a small village.

Faye could then have been seen appearing in an episode of the adventure science fiction “Doctor Who”, the romantic comedy “My Mad Fat Diary” and the crime mystery “Vera”. In 2016, she portrayed the lead character Nina in the comedy “Love, Nina”, which also starred Harry Webster and Ethan Rouse, and follows the life in London, England in the ‘80s.

There are no men, or perhaps women whom Faye’s been with, as she respects her own privacy and hasn’t spoken about her past and present relationships in public.

Faye’s a supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and this has led some of her fans to believe that she’s perhaps lesbian; even though Faye hasn’t addressed these rumors, some of her fans have claimed to have seen her spending time with a girl in public whom they believe to be her girlfriend.

There are also those who believe that Faye’s disinterested in love and prefers to work on her career, but this hasn’t been confirmed either.
