Who is Ninel Conde?

Mexican actress, singer and TV host Ninel Herrera Conde was born in Toluca, Mexico, on 29 September 1970, making Libra her zodiac sign. She has 31 acting credits, and is perhaps still known best for portraying Alma Rey in all 442 episodes of the family comedy series “Rebelde”, which starred Jorge Ponce and Dulce Maria, and follows six teenagers as they’re attending a private school for the wealthy; the series aired from 2004 through 2006, and won two awards.

Education and early life

Ninel was raised in Mexico by her mother Myrna Conde, and father whose name remains undisclosed; it remains unknown whether or not she has siblings, as she hasn’t spoken about them.

Ninel became interested in acting and singing while attending a local high school; she performed in a number of school plays, most of which were musicals, and was around 17 when she knew that she wanted to pursue a career in the film industry.

Ninel matriculated in 1988 and then enrolled at an acting school, from which she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1992.

Roles in TV series

Ninel’s debut TV series role was playing Modelo in the 1993 episode “Musica” of the comedy “Al Derecho y al Derbez”, and the year 1995 saw her appear in five episodes of the crime thriller “Bajo un Mismo Rostro”.

In 1999, she portrayed Paty in 16 episodes of the romantic drama “Catalina y Sebastian”, which starred Sergio Basanez and Silvia Navarro, and follows the life of a couple from Mexico. In 2000, Ninel played Reina Azcarraga in 71 episodes of the romantic drama “The Revenge”, which starred Jorge Reyes and Danna Garcia, and follows the lives of a wealthy businessman and his two daughters.

Some of Ninel’s following roles were in an episode or two of the drama “Like in the Movies”, the comedy “La Hora Pico”, and another comedy “La Escuelita VIP”. In 2009 and 2010, she starred as Catalina Mijares ‘Coral’ in all 164 episodes of the romantic drama “Curse by the Sea”, which also starred Zuria Vega and Mariana Seoane, and follows a man and a woman who’ve fallen in love.

In 2012 and 2013, Ninel starred as Discua Cervantes in all 94 episodes of the comedy “Porque el Amor Manda”, which starred Fernando Colunga and Blanca Soto, and follows a poor man who’s inadvertently committed a federal crime. The year 2017 saw Ninel star as Carolina in 59 episodes of the drama “Wild Lands”, and from 2018 through 2020, she portrayed Evelina in 108 episodes of the popular crime action “El Senor de los Cielos”, which starred Rafael Amaya and Carmen Aub, and was created by Mariano Calasso. It follows the life of drug lord Amado Carrillo Fuentes, and the series won two awards.

Ninel’s since appeared in only a single TV series, portraying Esposa, Paty in the 2020 episode “El Hombre que Tenía Celos, El Médium II, El Hipnotizador Alcohólico” of the horror comedy “Relatos Macabrones”.

Roles in movies

Ninel’s debut film role was playing Vanessa in the 2003 drama “Mujeres Infieles II”, which starred Alejandro Camacho and Gabriela Olmedo, and was directed by Adolfo Martinez Solares; it follows the relationships of three women.

She went on to portray Monica in the 2004 romantic comedy “7 Mujeres, 1 Homosexual y Carlos”, and an unnamed character in the 2004 comedy “La Escuelita en Noche Buena”.

In 2015, Ninel voiced Chiquis in the animated adventure comedy “Huevos: Little Rooster’s Egg-cellent Adventure”, which starred Bruno Bichir and Carlos Espejel, and was written and directed by Gabriel and Rodolfo Riva Palacio Alatriste. It follows the life of young chick Toto, and the film won one of its five award nominations.

Ninel’s appeared in only one other movie, playing La Jefa del Norte in the 2022 comedy “Escándalo Secreto: En Plena Cuarentena”.

Other credits

Ninel sang the song “Ando en Busca de un Gallo” in the 2015 movie “Huevos: Little Rooster’s Egg-cellent Adventure” and the song “El Bombon Asesino” in the 2022 movie “Valentina”.

Some of her recent talk-show appearances have been in “Noches con Platanito”, “+Noche” and “Tu-Night Show Con Omar Chaparro”.

Ninel was nominated for a 2005 MTV Movie Award for Most Desirable Threesome for an Imaginary Movie, for her, Lorena Herrera and Sergio Mayer’s performance in “Solo Para Adultos”.

Love life and husband

Nine’s married thrice. Her first husband was Mexican actor and producer Ari Telch; they exchanged vows in 1996 but divorced in 1998; they have a daughter Sofia together, born on 7 May 1997.

Ninel’s second husband was Mexican businessman Juan Zepeda; they married on 7 December 2007 and divorced in August 2013; it was revealed in 2015 that Ninel and Juan’s marriage was invalid, because he was already married to Ecuadorian beauty pageant winner and actress Maria Sol Corral Zambrano when he married Ninel.

She began dating Mexican businessman Giovanni Medina in October 2013, and she gave birth to their son Emmanuel on 21 October 2014.

Most recently, on 28 October 2020, Ninel married her third husband Larry Ramos.

Interesting facts and hobbies

Ninel did some modelling work when she was in her 20s and 30s.

She competed in the reality show “Big Brother VIP” in March 2004, and was the seventh person to leave the house.

Ninel honed her acting skills at Sergio Jimenez y Rene Pereira Acting Studios, as well as at Centro de Arte y Teatro Emilia Carranza.

She released her debut album, “Ninel Conde” in 2003.
