Who is Tom Hughes?
British actor Tom Hughes was born under the zodiac sign Aries in Chester, England, on 18 April 1985. He has 35 acting credits, and is perhaps known best for portraying Bruce Pearson in the 2010 comedy movie “Cemetery Junction”, which starred Felicity Jones and Christian Cooke, and was written and directed by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. It follows the lives of three friends in the 1970s, and the film was nominated for only a single award.
Tom’s currently shooting for the upcoming movie “Iron Ribbon” and the series “Those About to Die”.
Education and early life
Tom was raised in Upton-by-Chester, Cheshire, England alongside his older brother, by their mother Sue and father Roy Hughes; not many other details have been shared about Tom’s parents, because they prefer to be left out of media, but it’s believed that his mother was a housewife, and his father a truck driver.
Tom became interested in acting while attending a local elementary school and was a member of Liverpool Everyman Youth Theatre, Jigsaw Music Theatre Company and Cheshire Youth theatre; he was also into sports as a teenager and excelled at soccer.

Tom’s debut TV series role was playing Dr. Harry Ingrams in all six episodes of the 2009 historical drama “Casualty 1909”, and the same year saw him star as Jonty Millington in all eight episodes of the crime comedy “Trinity”, which also starred Claire Skinner and Charles Dance, and was created by Kieron Quirke and Robin French. It follows Charlotte who’s enrolled at Trinity College because she believes that Trinity had something to do with her father’s death.
The year 2011 saw Tom play Nick Slade in six episodes of the drama “Silk”, and the following year saw him appear as Duke of Aumerie in the episode “Richard II” of the historical war drama “The Hollow Crown”. In 2013, he played Julian in five episodes of the popular drama mini-series “Dancing on the Edge”, which starred Matthew Goode and Chiwetel Ejiofor, and follows the rise of a black jazz band in the 1930s London; the series won five of its 21 award nominations. Tom could then have been seen appearing in an episode of the comedy “Derek”, the mystery thriller “The Game” and the horror “Neil Gaiman’s Likely Stories”.

From 2016 through 2019, he starred as Albert in all 25 episodes of the biographical historical drama “Victoria”, which also starred Adrian Schiller and Jenna Coleman, and was created by Daisy Goodwin. It follows the early life of Queen Victoria and the series won 11 of its 29 award nominations.
Tom’s since had two TV series roles, playing Kit Marlowe in five episodes of the 2021 romantic fantasy “A Discovery of Witches” and Thomas Trafford in five episodes of the 2022 western mini-series “The English”.

Tom’s debut film role was playing Jason in the 2009 short drama “Storage”, and some of his following roles were in the 2009 short drama “Tortoise”, the 2010 biographical musical “Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll” and the 2011 mystery thriller “Page Eight”.
In 2012, Tom portrayed Dan in the comedy “8 Minutes Idle”, which starred Antonia Thomas and Ophelia Lovibond, was directed by Mark Simon Hewis and based on Matt Thorne’s novel “Eight Minutes Idle”; it follows the life of a man employed at a call center. Jenna’s won two of her 19 award nominations.
There are rumors circulating the internet today, claiming that Tom and Jenna have recently become engaged, but this hasn’t been confirmed.
There are no other women whom Tom’s perhaps been with, that we know about; he’s in a long-term relationship with Jenna Coleman as of September 2023, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
