Early Life and Cooking Beginnings

David was the youngest among three siblings, raised by a single mother, and she became his inspiration in the kitchen, who taught him how to cook. They were encouraged to work hard for their goals, and their mother never discouraged them to chase after their dreams, even if they seemed big.

His fame expanded internationally when he became the host of the show entitled “In the Kitchen with David”, which began airing in 2009. His mother has also appeared a few times on his show, on which the duo have cooked together.

With his popularity as a television host, David saw an opportunity to expand his income through creating cookbooks based on his show. His first was entitled “In the Kitchen with David: QVC’s Resident Foodie Presents Comfort Foods That Take You Home” which was published in 2012, and he then released another entitled “Back Around the Table: An “In the Kitchen with David” Cookbook from QVC’s Resident Foodie” which was published two years later. The books became very popular, and he produced a third book in 2018 entitled “Comfort Food Shortcuts: An “In the Kitchen with David” Cookbook”. He’s so far sold over half a million copies of his cookbooks internationally.
