Who is Isabella Sierra?

Colombian actress, singer and social media star Isabella Sierra Ibagon was born under the zodiac sign Gemini on 26 May 2005, in Neiva, Colombia. She has nine acting credits and is perhaps known best for portraying Sofia Mendoza in 113 episodes of the action crime series “La Reina del Sur” since 2019; the series was created by Dario Vanegas and Lina Uribe in 2011, and today stars Alejandro Calva, Humberto Zurita and Kate del Castillo. It follows Teresa Mendoza as she’s fighting drug dealers in Mexico, and the series has won five of its 11 award nominations.

Education and early life

Isabella was raised in Neiva alongside her brother and two sisters, by their father Jhon Jarvi Sierra Gutierrez and mother Alejandra Sierra; not many details have been shared about Isabella’s family but it’s believed that her father’s a farmer and her mother a nurse.

She fell in love with acting at a very early age, and was 11 when she made her debut TV series appearance, portraying Girl in the 2016 episode “Deutschland 93” of the critically acclaimed biographical crime drama “Narcos”, which aired from 2015 through 2017, starred Wagner Moura and Pedro Pascal, and was created by Chris Brancato and Carlo Bernard. Isabella studied at a local high school in Neiva and was passionate about dancing and playing soccer during her four years there; she’s matriculated just recently in 2023, and it’s widely believed that she won’t be enrolling at college but will remain focused on her acting career.

Isabella’s appeared in three movies. Her debut was portraying Young Griselda in the 2017 biographical crime drama “Cocaine Godmother”, which starred Jenny Pellicer, Alejandro Edda and Catherine Zeta-Jones, and was directed by Guillermo Navarro. It follows the life of Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco and the film won one of its seven award nominations.

The same year saw her play Manuelita Sanez Nina in four episodes of the popular biographical action “Bolivar: Una Lucha Admirable”, which starred Juliette Pardau, Mauricio Mejia and Luis Geronimo Abreu, and follows the life of Venezuelan General Simon Bolivar; the series won eight of its 18 award nominations.

In 2020, Isabella played Estefania in the episode “Encerrados” of the drama “Decision: Some Win and Others Lose”, which starred Iran Castillo, Zharick Leon and Sebastian Silv, and follows the lives of several politicians, lawyers and ordinary people.

Her only other TV series role has been playing Susana Casas in 31 episodes of the comedy “100 Dias Para Enomorarnos”, which starred Erick Elias, Mariana Trevino and Ilse Salas, and was created by Sebastian Ortega. It follows two couples who want to break-up but have decided to give their relationships another 100 days; the series won one of its two award nominations.

Many of Isabella’s fans believe that she’s lesbian, claiming that a girl who can be seen featured in a couple of her Instagram pictures is her girlfriend rather than just a friend; it’s believed that the two have also been spotted kissing in public but no evidence has been provided to support these claims, nor has Isabella addressed the matter.
