Shanna’s modeling career actually started when she was just 15 years old, and two years later she entered the 1992 Miss Teen USA pageant representing Rhode Island, finishing seventh. Thereafter, in the following year, she managed to win the Miss Teen All American title, which encouraged her to further pursue her career, and in 1995 she won the Miss New York USA title, so representing New York at the Miss USA beauty pageant in South Padre Island, Texas, and becoming the first runner-up, but was subsequently declared the title holder, as Chelsi Smith, who was the original winner, became Miss Universe – apparently hoding both titles isn’t allowed.
