Very little information is available about Tracey’s life prior to her work as a weathercaster. It is known that she grew up in Minnesota but details about her childhood as well as her family are not known. She has mentioned that growing up, weather was always something that fascinated her, and storms always gave her a feeling of uneasiness. She wanted to better understand various weather phenomenon, which eventually led her to a pursuit of that particular field.
After matriculating from high school, she enrolled at St. Cloud State University (SCSU) to study for a degree in Atmospheric Science and Meteorology. The public university was founded on the Mississippi River in St. Cloud above Beaver Islands and is one of the largest schools in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system, with over 14,000 students and more than 110,000 alumni. Following her initial experience with WeatherNation, Anthony continued to work with the company as an Associate Producer, and did so for the next two years; the network is known for broadcasting live and pre-recorded weather forecasts, covering local, regional and national weather-related news. Eventually, she decided to move away from working as a weather reporter for a while, wanting to see if there were any other prospective careers for her. She decided to sign up as a cheerleader for the National Football League (NFL) team, the Minnesota Vikings in 2013. The team is a part of the National Football Conference (NFC) North division, and was an expansion franchise which became a part of the league in 1960. One of their most notable achievements was winning the 1969 Vikings’ league championship which was the last NFL championship prior to the NFL and Arena Football League (AFL) merger. Tracey served as a cheerleader for around a year, before deciding that she wanted to go back to working as a meteorologist.
So Tracey began working for the station WTAP as a morning meteorologist. The station is an NBC affiliate based in Parkersburg, West Virginia, and also features various syndicated shows such as “Dr. Phil” and “Wheel of Fortune”. It is one of the strongest NBC affiliates in the US, with one of the most watched newscasts in the country. She stayed with the station for the next nine months, and then returned to WeatherNation in 2015 as a fully-fledged meteorologist. While working with them, she also took another job for KUSA-TV in which she serves as the weekend morning traffic reporter.
KUSA is another NBC affiliated station, which is based in Denver, Colorado. They broadcast programs such as “Entertainment Tonight”, “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”, and “The Doctors”. It was initially a station that struggled in the ratings for several years before they joined NBC, and now produce various original programs, while also known for its sports broadcasts, and air a lot of locally produced newscasts.
