Johnson became popular as a weathercaster, and has been voted as one of the ‘hottest’ weather forecasters in numerous online polls. It even prompted “Playboy” to offer her a feature, provided she agreed to a nude photo shoot, however, she declined the offer. She was also offered appearances in various films and television shows, in which she mainly had similar roles as a news anchor or meteorologist in small segments. She was later cast in a bigger role in the film “Battleship”, released in 2012, and is a science fiction film loosely based on the board game of the same name; stars of the film included Taylor Kitsch and Rihanna. In the film, a fleet of ships are forced to do battle with extraterrestrial ships to stop them conquering earth.

While Johnson was a consistent face on CBS2, despite her numerous projects, she announced in 2018 that she would be leaving the station. For her personal life, it is known that Jackie married former professional American Football player John Kidd in 2011. Kidd is known from playing with numerous National Football League (NFL) teams such as the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, San Diego Chargers, New York Jets and the Detroit Lions. He was the highest selected punter in Bills history, taken during the fifth round of the 1984 NFL Draft. However, at some point in their relationship, things started going south and they divorced, the reason for which has never been publicly revealed.

Their divorce was finalized in 2014 and shortly after, Jackie was rumored to have a romance going on with “Foo Fighters” singer Dave Grohl but it was never confirmed. In 2016, she announced that she was marrying Patrick McBride, about whom not much is known save for a few photos they’ve shared online. They also have a child together.
