Early life and education

Whitney is of mixed ethnicity as her father is African-American while her mother is biracial. Both Whitney and Kendrick were raised in a rich neighborhood in which hip hop was rising, together with some of today’s most popular rappers such as Ice Cube and Dr. Dre. It was not all fun and games, as there were many gangs in the streets and people had to be very careful about the places where they spend their time.

Whitney attended Centennial High School, and it is there she met Kendrick for the first time – they began dating after a couple of months of friendship, and have been together ever since. After she matriculated from the Centennial High School, Whitney didn’t pursue a college degree, but worked on her career.

The name ‘Kendrick’ was given to him by his mother who loved “The Temptations” singer Eddie Kendricks. His father Kenny Duckworth was part of the street gang called Gangster Disciples.
