The Riches of Ali Larter

How rich is Ali Larter? As of mid-2018, sources estimate a net worth that is over $8 million earned through a successful career in acting. She’s been featured in numerous magazines, and also had high profile roles in series such as “Heroes”. As she continues her career, it is expected that her wealth will also continue to increase.

Early Life and Modelling Career

Ali’s mother was a realtor while her father was a trucking executive. She attended Cherry Hill High School West but wasn’t able to finish high school right away as she found a career in modelling early on, but did finish high school later on while already working. Ali mentioned that she wasn’t taken notice of by many, until she gained height and significant curves. She was signed by the Ford Modelling Agency, and found her first job when she was spotted by an agent who asked her to be featured in a Phillies commercial. She subsequently travelled to various parts of the world as a model, including Japan, Italy and Australia, meantime becoming close friends with fellow model Amy Smart, who would also later turn to acting, and they lived together in Los Angeles while looking for acting opportunities. Ali was hired to portray fictional model Allegra Coleman, and she used her fame as Allegra to help her land acting roles.

Acting Career

In the mid-1990s, Larter started getting featured on television as a guest in numerous popular televisions shows, including “Dawson’s Creek”, “Chicago Hope”, and “Just Shoot Me!” This eventually led to her film debut in 1999’s “Varsity Blues”, on which she worked with Amy Smart and James Van Der Beek, playing one of the love interests of the main characters. She would then have a supporting role in the film “Drive Me Crazy”, and afterwards was cast in the remake of “House on Haunted Hill”, which had negative reviews but did well in the box office.

She was featured on the cover of “Maxim” magazine before appearing in a stage play of “The Vagina Monologues” in New York City. She later reprised her role of Clear Rivers in “Final Destination 2”, which earned high on the box office despite a mixed reception.

Resident Evil, and Later Work

In 2005, Ali auditioned successfully for the television series “Heroes”, leading her to be cast as Niki Sanders and Tracy Strauss. The show proved very successful during the early seasons before it was cancelled. Her next notable role was in “Resident Evil: Extinction” alongside Milla Jovovich, the film based on the video game series “Resident Evil”, and playing one of the video game’s iconic characters, Claire Redfield.  She also received praise for her performance in the film “Obsessed”, which got her a Teen Choice Award nomination.

In 2010, she reprised her role of Claire Redfield in “Resident Evil: Afterlife”, and then took a break from acting to focus on her family. She returned in 2014, appearing in a few films before starring in the final “Resident Evil” film entitled “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter”, which earned mixed response but was able to gross over $312 million, making it her biggest box office success. One of her latest projects is the series “Pitch”, which focuses on the first woman to play Major League Baseball.

Personal Life

For her personal life, Larter is married to actor Hayes MacArthur since 2009 – they met on the set of “Homo Erectus”, got engaged in 2007, and were married two years later at MacArthur’s parent’s estate located in Kennebunkport, Maine, attended by close friends including Amy Smart as well as family members. Ali and Hayes have a home in Hollywood Hills worth $2.9 million, residing with their two children. She mentioned that she loves to cook, and spends a lot of her free time reading cookbooks which helps her relax. In 2013 she released “Kitchen Revelry: A Year of Festive Menus from My Home to Yours”, her first cookbook which recounts experiences of her serving in an intimate setting, and in large dinner party settings.
