Early Life, Parents, and Education

Of Cuban and Spanish ancestry, Camila is the older daughter of Carmen and Jaime Banus; her younger sister is actress Gabriela Banus. From an early age, Camila was interested in acting, and as she got older she only honed her skills. There is no information about where Camila received her formal education, however, her career started when she was only 15 years old.

Career Beginnings

Having been interested in acting since she was a little girl, Camila’s career started in her teens, when she played Rainbow in the family comedy film “Lenny the Wonder Dog”. In 2013 she played Talia Portillo in the biopic about boxer Emilio Manrique, entitled “Counterpunch”, starring Alvaro Orlando, Danny Trejo and Steven Bauer, while in 2014 she appeared in the comedy-drama film “Wishin’ and Hopin’”. In 2016 she guest-starred in several episodes of the award-winning TV romantic drama series “Mistresses”, starring Alyssa Milano, Jes Macallan and Rochelle Aytes, and then had her first lead role in the film “Speak Now”, a comedy-drama directed by Melissa Vitello, who co-wrote the script with Bryan Ricke.
