German was born in Huntington Beach, California and is of Dutch and English descent. She studied at Los Alamitos High School as well as Orange County High School of the Arts. She later on attended University of Southern California and majored in anthropology.

German then appeared in other movies, including “Dead Above Ground”, “A Midsummer Night’s Rave” and “The Lone Ranger”, and also auditioned for the lead role in the movie “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” in 2003, but the role was given to Jessica Biel and she garnered the role of The Hitchhiker. Other films that German has appeared in include “Born Killers”, “Rx”, and “It Is Fine!
