In late July 2016, with her sister Sasha and their mother, Malia went to Liberia to promote Let Girls Learn, an organization which helps girls attain a quality education, funded by the US. Subsequently, they met Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, the first Liberian female politician to become president. They then travelled to Morocco, where they collaborated with Freida Pinto and Meryl Streep, working on the panel moderated by CNN, raising money to allow girls who lack access to engage in formal education.

Private Life and Relationship Status

As Michelle and Barack Obama tried hard to keep their daughters’ private lives behind closed doors, we don’t have much information regarding those aspects, and Malia isn’t active on any social media. In 2015, Obama earned the title of the Washington volleyball player of the year, additionally taking the position of 38th best player in the country. She stated that she doesn’t want to follow the paths of her parents, and has ambitions to become a filmmaker, although she is apparently the owner of a football team named the Chicago Angels. She launched the perfume named With Love from Malia, and has her own fashion line entitled Malia Obama seduction.  In his victory speech, Malia’s father promised to get her and her sister a puppy, which they will take to the White House. However, the selection of the pet was slow, due to Malia’s allergy to animal dander. In early 2009, the family adopted a Portuguese Water Dog, which Ted Kennedy gifted them.
