It was later rebutted by TMZ who reported that he actually left his job to try his hand at voice acting. Other rumors stated that he was unhappy with his salary, and in any case none of the Kardashian family were involved in him leaving the company. He did find voice acting work later on, and was able to join a talent agency to help him find various jobs in that field.
Kemp would subsequently join the CBS-owned station KCBS-KCAL, which he served initially as a freelancer, covering morning news as a meteorologist, and after a few months was then offered a full time job. He quickly became recognized and a well-known reporter for CBS, and his net worth increased significantly thanks to the opportunity. He continues to regularly appear as a weatherman for the station.
