Charissa frequently appeared in shows such as “The BCS Show”, “BCS Breakdown” and “Friday Night Tailgate”, and was also the co-host of “The Best Damn Sports Show Period” before its cancellation in 2009.

She continued to work for Yahoo to cover the FIFA World Cup held in South Africa in 2010, and the following year covered the college American Football BCS National Championship game. In 2011, she was entrusted with coverage of both the Super Bowl the NBA All-Star Game, as well as the NHL All-Star Game from Versus, but was later left out of from the network’s NHL reporting team following the NBC-Comcast merger. In 2013, she became the co-host of the reality television series entitled “Splash”, in which contestants dive from Olympic-size platforms and are scored by Olympic divers.
Later Work and Other Projects
Charissa worked with ESPN on the show “Numbers Never Lie”, and she was also a fill-in host for the show “SportsNation”, later becoming one of the regular hosts, but eventually left ESPN to return to Fox. In 2014, she worked with Mario Lopez and Tracy Edmonds in the television show “Extra”, on which she stayed for three years before leaving to focus on her work with Fox Sports. In 2016, she began hosting the Netflix reality show entitled “Ultimate Beastmaster”, which features celebrities from various countries competing in an obstacle course. She also joined the sportscasting team of Top Rank to cover the pay-per-view boxing event “Manny Pacquiao vs. Jessie Vargas”. Charissa was featured in an issue of “Access DirecTV”, and worked with the magazine briefly for a feature story. She was also the host of the “Barstool Spelling Bee” on one occasion.

For her personal life, it is known that Thompson was in a relationship with former college and NBA basketball player, and current college basketball analyst Jay Williams; they dated from 2011 for more than a year before separating. No further relationships have been reported or even rumoured. She’s mentioned in an interview that she is a Christian, and now resides in Malibu, California where she owns a beach house valued at almost $3 million, and has recently put it up for sale.
